1:72 Knight's Interceptor in progress

Plan view

The 1:72 Knight's interceptor scratchbuild is now in progress. After drawing up some plans, with research from screen-grabs and Revell's very nice 1:24 'Easy Kit', styrene has been cut, and a few odds and ends assembled.

The heat dissipators were the first part assembled, but it's quite possible that they will be rebuilt in a slightly more detailed format.

A knight and a fully detailed cockpit are envisioned. A new vac-former will help greatly in creating the unusual and challenging canopy!

Mac Aus Con - May '09

Mac Aus Con 2009 - by Polidread

Our sculptor Petar B will be going to Mac Aus Con 2009 in Brisbane - Australia's first ever Macross convention. The convention will kick off with a special screen of Macross movies at the Regent Theatre in Brisbane. There will be all sorts of modern and vintage mecha action on display. The con takes place over 16th & 17th May 2009.

Studio Starforge is proud to a minor sponsor with some prizes up for grabs at the modeling competion!

We encourage any mecha fan - and especially Macross fans - who can make it, to come to the event.

Full details can be found at MacrossWorld here.

UPDATE: the last few tickets to the all-day cinema event are now highly discounted! Snap them up while you can!

UPDATE AGAIN: Petar B was the proud winner of the 'Custom Model Paint' category for a 1:72 VF-2SS.

New releases - mid 2009

Speeder Bike & Scout prototype

With the resolution of some production issues, we can now let you know about our new releases. The long delayed 1:72 speeder-bikes and scout riders should be ready to go within the next quarter, inspired by the popular trilogy of SW movies. We are also reviewing the options on a larger pilot and updated cockpit area for the Bandai VF-25 from Macross Frontier. The supplied pilot certainly looks a bit undersize for the 1:72 scale claimed on the packaging! The kit itself is a superb piece of engineering otherwise. There's one other much larger subject which we hope to announce soon.
