1:72 Interceptor - Scratchbuild Saga Continued...
Time to get this one finished. I've been working on the canopy buck for the vac formed canopy. I've experimented with clear resin, but it's just not producing the clarity I would be happy with at this tiny size. I think in this case, vacform will produce a superior result. I had to make the buck not once, but three times. The below pic shows the second (yellow) which I was dissatisfied with, then the white one which worked well, and a casting of the same with the vac-formed PETG pulled over it. It reproduced the curves quite well. I've made the buck so its easy to cut the canopy out by following the lower step.
And is it clear enough? I think so...
Apologies to those following this scratchbuild and the lack of updates. A tree fell on my house, flattening one vehicle and damaging the other. I have had so much to do over the last few months this - and another similar project - had to be put on the back burner. In the process of catching up on everything!
